Meet James McDermott.

We spoke to James about his current role, what he's studying and his career ambitions.

Who do you work for? Private yachting.

What is your role and what does this involve on a day to day basis?  Bosun - organising the deck team, maintaining the exterior of the yacht as well as tenders and toys.

Tell us about some of the places you have been with work? All over the world but cruising Norway was my favourite.

What are you studying at FNC and how will this help you in your career? Advanced Certificate Nautical Science as well as various short courses. These will all go towards my Officer of the Watch Unlimited Deck certificate of competency.

Where do you see yourself, career-wise, in 10 years? Senior Officer onboard large yachts.
