Fleetwood Nautical Campus - Halls of Residence

Accommodation

Our three-year sponsored merchant navy cadet scheme is divided into five phases, with phases 1, 3 and 5 running at the Fleetwood Nautical Campus (FNC).

For phases 2 and 4 you will be based at sea.

Halls of Residence

During the first phase you will live at our on-site hall of residence. This amazing facility has been specifically designed so you can experience - and more importantly prepare for - life at sea.

With separate areas for males and females, our hall of residence has everything you need, including single-berth cabins, wash facilities, a kitchen and a laundry. There is also a 24-hour warden.

The campus itself has a refectory and reasonably priced bar, with plenty of opportunities to socialise at our organised themed nights. Again, the environment is very like that on board a ship.

You will only live at our hall of residence during phase 1 of your programme.

During phases 3 and 5 we will support you to find local accommodation with one of our registered landlords.

Hall of residence costs

£130 per week payable monthly in advance at a cost of £520 on arrival (includes bed, breakfast and evening meal).

Most cadets pay for their accommodation costs out of the wage paid to them by their sponsoring company.

International students (Right to Rent)

The Right to Rent rule, introduced in February 2016, means that all private landlords in England must check that all new tenants have the right to be in the UK before renting out their property.

If you are a Tier 4 student, or you have a valid short-term study visa, you automatically have a right to rent.

You will need to show supporting documentation as evidence to your landlord (you can find out more about this on the Home Office website).

Right to Rent does not apply to students in our halls of residence.
