Fleetwood Nautical Campus's Badr Moutik wins the Maritime Masters 2021 Award

Maritime UK's Maritime Masters programme is designed to strengthen links between UK industry and academia by promoting academic excellence between students and their universities, while providing valuable research to support collaborative work in the maritime sector. In 2021, the winner was Badr Moutik, Maritime lecturer at Fleetwood.
Robin Mortimer, Vice President of Maritime UK presented Badr with the award for his research on 'Carbon Negative Shipping for 2030: Developing a Concept for a Negative Container Ship Energy System carbon: Combination of carbon capture technology and e-methanol ”.
The academic courses chosen represented a wide range of UK academic skills, ranging from naval architecture to maritime economics, from ship management to maritime law. The research projects, designed by the academics, focused on contemporary issues concerning the UK maritime sector and its position in the global maritime environment.
