Entry criteria for BSc top up Maritime Operations Management broadened – find out if you are now eligible to apply

We are delighted to announce that, in agreement with Lancaster University, the entry requirements for the BSc top up Maritime Operations Management have been broadened with the following criteria having been revised:
- We can now consider applicants with relevant qualifications from all UK maritime institutions (no longer just Fleetwood)
and
- We can now consider applicants who last studied relevant qualifications more than five years before the BSc course start date, subject to evidence of maintained competence/relevant industry experience
These changes apply from the September 2022 intake.
The onsite and blended learning pathway options remain available for each subject discipline.
BSc Top Up programmes
Maritime Operations Management (Nautical Science) - BSC Hons Degree – Topup
Maritime Operations Management (Marine Engineering) - BSc Hons Degree - Topup
Maritime Operations Management (Electro-Technical) - BSc Hons Degree - Topup
Entry requirements
Studies completed in last five years
Entrants onto the programme will have successfully completed the STCW-aligned Foundation Degree at a UK Maritime Academy in the five years prior to BSc (Hons) course commencement.
Studies completed more than five years ago
Applications are also invited from those who completed their studies more than five years ago. These applicants will need to provide evidence that they have maintained competence at sea and/or relevant industry experience, along with a personal statement. If this applies to you, we will be in touch about evidence once we receive your application.
BSc Top Up with bridging module from Advanced Diploma/HND
Studies completed in last five years
Entrants onto the programme will have successfully completed the Advanced Diploma/Higher National Diploma at a UK Maritime Academy in the five years prior to BSc (Hons) course commencement. Applicants enrolling with an Advanced Diploma/Higher National Diploma will be required to undertake a three-week pre-entry bridging module prior to the course commencement, which will be delivered via blended learning. Entry to the BSc programme is conditional upon passing this module.
Studies completed more than five years ago
Applications are also invited from those who completed their studies more than five years ago. These applicants will need to provide evidence that they have maintained competence at sea and/or relevant industry experience, along with a personal statement. If this applies to you, we will be in touch about evidence once we receive your application.
