Course Overview

This course will allow you to gain Enhanced First Aid skills and knowledge in accordance with the GWO standard. Combining theoretical and practical training, this course effectively delivers the knowledge and skills required to administer safe and effective Enhanced First Aid in the wind turbine industry/wind turbine generator (WTG) environment.

Validity of certificate

This certificate is valid for 2 years from date of issue. Participants are required to register for free as a delegate on the GWO WINDA database prior to arriving on any GWO course.

Entry Requirements

All participants in this enhanced first aid must be medically fit and capable of fully participating.

Assessment Methods

On completion, successful participants should be able to:

  • take responsibility for administering safe, effective, and immediate lifesaving and enhanced first aid measures in an emergency in a Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) environment (Ability, intermediate level)
  • act independently in giving assistance in remote areas using advanced emergency equipment and medical teleconsultation (Ability, intermediate level)

Other Costs and Equipment Needed

The course is both classroom theory and scenario based practical for which protective equipment will be provided. The usual dress for theory sessions is smart/casual.
