Course Overview

Train to become a work-based emergency first aider with this one day classroom -based course Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF). Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give safe, prompt and effective first aid in emergency situations. In addition, as a regulated qualification, employers can book this course for their employees and rest assured that they have fulfilled their legal responsibilities for providing quality first aid training, without having to undertake any lengthy due diligence checks.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements. Please be aware that some practical aspects of the course are physical and require delegates to be able to perform CPR.       
 

Career Options and Progression

Employers have a duty of care under the First Aid (Health & Safety) Regulations 1981 to make first aid arrangements, which this qualification fulfils. It may also enhance your employability.       
 

Assessment Methods

The course covers the roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider, including:  

  • assessing an incident  
  • managing an unresponsive casualty  
  • CPR and defibrillation  
  • recovery Position  
  • choking  
  • seizures  
  • shock  
  • wounds and bleeding  
  • minor injuries  
  • cuts, grazes and bruises  
  • minor burns and scalds  

Assessment is carried out via a multiple choice question paper and practical scenario.

Teaching and Learning Methods

The Emergency First Aid course is split equally between theory and practical work. 
 

Industry Placement and Field Trips

This course has no industry placement and no field trips.

Other Costs and Equipment Needed

The course fees include registration and certification. No equipment is required.
