Fleetwood Nautical Campus is set to open its doors on Saturday, 7 February 2026, for its highly anticipated Maritime Careers Open Event, inviting prospective students and aspiring seafarers to explore the world of opportunities within the Merchant Navy. Running from 10:30am to 2:30pm, the event offers an insight into the pathways, training, and real-life experiences associated with a maritime career. 

Visitors will have the chance to tour the campus’s world‑class training facilities, including specialist classrooms and workshops, the Marine Engineering Centre, electro‑technical laboratories, and the on‑site halls of residence. Attendees will also be able to witness live demonstrations in key practical environments such as the environmental training pool, bridge simulators, and engine room simulators, providing a realistic look at professional maritime training in action.

The open day is designed to give prospective cadets the opportunity to speak directly with experienced tutors, meet the Head of Campus, the Head of Maritime, and the progress tutors who guide students throughout their studies. Current cadets will also be on hand to share their experiences of life and learning at sea and on campus, offering invaluable first‑hand insight.

One of the major highlights of the event is the opportunity to engage with sponsoring shipping and training companies. These organisations will be available throughout the day to discuss sponsorship routes – a key element of maritime training that can cover tuition fees and provide industry placements. Training pathways showcased include Nautical Science (Deck), Marine Engineering, and Electro‑Technical Officer (ETO) programmes, each leading to internationally recognised professional qualifications and degree‑level outcomes.
