HE Symposium at Fleetwood Nautical Campus

Last week, we hosted our very first HE Symposium at Fleetwood Nautical Campus - a milestone event where our students presented their primary research to an academic audience for the very first time.
A total of 11 presenters shared their work with a panel of six experts and an audience of fellow cadets. The presentations covered an impressive range of topics, including seabed mapping, air gapping, cyber security, GPS jamming and spoofing, and phishing link analysis.
Reflecting on the event, Neil Atkinson Head of Fleetwood Nautical Campus commented:
“They say every day is a learning day, which is true every day at Fleetwood Nautical Campus, but today that was taken to a different level with the quality of the cadet research presentations that we have seen. A huge well done to all the presenters.”
The symposium highlighted not only the depth of our students’ knowledge, but also their professionalism, curiosity, and commitment to advancing their fields. It marks the beginning of an exciting new tradition.
