Course Overview
This course is designed for fire team members who are new to the role or who have limited experience. It equips delegates with the knowledge and skills needed to operate effectively as part of an emergency response team, including responding to on‑site incidents or those required by the company. Training covers safe movement, casualty rescue, and firefighting using hose lines within a multi‑level structure. All courses are delivered by trained firefighters at our Fire Training Centre.
Entry Requirements
Parts of the course are of a physical nature. Delegates will be required to complete a medical declaration stating that they are fit to undertake practical training when they attend the course. This will be sent with joining instructions and delegates are requested to read this carefully so they are fully aware of the physical requirements.
Important information about facial hair:
There are mandatory elements of this training that require delegates to wear and use self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) whilst engaged in ‘live-fire’ exercises. To help ensure everyone’s safety whilst training, we ask that all course delegates are clean shaven prior to attending the course. This is to comply with current HSE guidance (HSG 53) on wearing close fitting respiratory protective equipment (RPE). Failure to ensure an effective seal may result in the delegate not being able to undertake training. We will be unable to issue a course completion certificate at the end of training in these cases.
Assessment Methods
Assessment will be made in the form of direct observation, oral questioning, and simulated scenarios.
