Course Overview
Gain the knowledge and skills relating to working at height on a wind turbine and selfrescue. Combining theoretical and practical training, this course will qualify you to work safely at height in the wind turbine industry/wind turbine generator (WTG) environment.

Medical declaration
Attention is drawn to the fact that parts of the course are of a physical nature. In addition, all delegates will be required to climb a 16m vertical ladder. Employers must ensure delegates are medically fit to attend training. Delegates will need to complete a medical declaration when they attend the course.

Entry Requirements
Delegates are required to register as a delegate on the GWO WINDA database prior to arrival.
Registration is free. Visit the Global Wind Safety website and complete the relevant fields.
You will need to bring your WINDA ID to all booked training courses.

The course covers the following areas:
- Relevant Legislation for Working at Height (WAH)
- Equipment Selection and Inspection
- Safe Systems of Work
- Permits
- Emergency Procedures
- Self-Rescue
- Evacuation
Teaching and Learning Methods
This is a two day course combining 30% theory with 70% practical learning.
Industry Placement and Field Trips
This course has no industry placement and no field trips.
Other Costs and Equipment Needed
The majority of the course is of a hands-on, practical nature. For theory sessions the dress code is smart/casual gear.
You will also need to bring:
- sturdy footwear
- warm clothing
- waterproof clothing
- suitable gloves for ladder climbing
- photographic proof of identity eg passport/driving licence (compulsory to attend the course)
