Our three-year sponsored merchant navy cadet scheme is divided into five phases, with phases 1, 3 and 5 running at the Fleetwood Nautical Campus (FNC).

For phases 2 and 4 you will be based at sea.

Halls of Residence

This amazing facility has been specifically designed so you can experience - and more importantly prepare for - life at sea.

With separate areas for males and females, our halls of residence has everything you need, including single-berth cabins, wash facilities, kitchen, laundry and a 24-hour warden.

We have recently added brand new accommodation, comprising 35 spacious en-suite rooms.

The campus itself has a refectory and reasonably priced bar, with plenty of opportunities to socialise at our organised themed nights. Again, the environment is very like that on board a ship.

You will live at our halls of residence during phase 1 of your programme or until you turn 18 years of age.

During phases 3 and 5 we will support you to find local accommodation with one of our registered landlords.

Hall of residence costs

Costs start from £135 per week, payable monthly in advance, with a minimum payment of £540 due upon arrival.

Our new build accommodation costs £175 per week, payable monthly in advance, with a minimum payment of £700 due upon arrival.

All costs include bed, breakfast and evening meal.

Most cadets pay for their accommodation costs out of the wage paid to them by their sponsoring company.

International students (Right to Rent)

The Right to Rent rule, introduced in February 2016, means that all private landlords in England must check that all new tenants have the right to be in the UK before renting out their property.

If you are a Tier 4 student, or you have a valid short-term study visa, you automatically have a right to rent.

You will need to show supporting documentation as evidence to your landlord (you can find out more about this on the Home Office website).

Right to Rent does not apply to students in our halls of residence.
